Q-workshop at Lucca, Italy 2008

Postby Maciej Q-workshop » Sat Nov 08, 2008 2:51 pm

We went to Lucca from Essen. We were tired of course..
Image
But as You can see above some were kept alive and well by some strange vision.. which of course we had to listen to like 20 times a day :P but that's the way it is when four wheels are on your mind.. (Is it just me or do You also think this gentleman has seen too much James Bond trailers? :P )
Image
It rained during our trip..
Image
It rained until evening..
Image
Even until very late evening..
Image
We went to Lucca through Bologne - we visited our Italian distributor and now good friends - Raven..
Image
And have a look at their warehouse..
Image
Which we did even making a picture with a shelf containing some of their best products along with our dice (Munchkin ^^)
Image
During the fairs we stayed in a small city 20 km away from Lucca.. he he he... in Pisa :)
And having a choice between spending another evening with Munchkin Quest...
Image
and sightseeing, we chose sightseeing :)
Image
Image
Image
Even though we tried the tower wouldn't fall.. Those Italians exaggerate, that's a very stable construction :P
Image
Image
Next day in the morning we went to Lucca.. even though it rained..
Image
At least it gave us some motivation to make our booth (believe me, you unload the car faster when it rains :) )
Image
Image
After which we went to scout the area :)
Image
We even found the map of the area
Image
Of course some couldn't resist and were still looking for a car..
Image
But as it occured - the car already had a new owner :P
Image
The town of Lucca proved to be a very beautiful town surrounded by an old fort wall, where every year fairs of comics and games take place. On the beautiful streets of the town..

among crowds of people...

Image
You could meet a lot of colourfull characters..
Image
Image
Image
But You could also see them in the big games tent and in front of our booth..

We even survived an attack of a small fluffy.. Cthulu..
Image
Image
it almost ate the award for Red Raven for releasing Munchkin Cthulu in Italy (yeah.. they received a plate.. snif..)
Image

And a sneak attack of a big, yellow fluffy.. duck..
Image
It almost ate Roberto, the boss of Red Raven Distributions..
Image
But we defeated it Munchkin-style
Image
We kind of beaten some more fluffies in an act of revenge..
Image
Image

The biggest problem were the language differences.. the Italians don't really think of English as an universal international language (that's me in front of google translator trying to expain to the hostel manager that we would need an electric kettle... stress as hell)
Image
That's why we came up with some explanation .. of course in our own style :)...
Image
Our italian friends tried to teach us some italian - here is Paolo teaching how to seduce a woman in Italy :) (thanks, mate, it works even in Poland ;) )
Image
And.. hmm.. let's say it worked sometimes - here is Laura, tricked into a picture :P (without her help this fair wouldn't be so great, thanks Laura :) )
Image

The games tent was really big..
Image
and really full of people..
Image
Image
There were a lot of people virtually everywhere..
Image
Image
Image
Even on the back of the games tent..
Image
Image
Image
Image

We ate what we could in order to survive...
Image
Image

You could fight on the arena with a sword..
Image
Or with a guitar...
Image
On the Guitar Hero stand You could really have some good time.. (if You know what I mean he he)
Image
The Italians like Munchkin as well (Raven publishes it there for two years or so..)
Image
So having some experience of few previous nights we managed to play some show games of Munchkin Quest!
Image

But to be honest italian food is really, really good.. the best pizza in the world..
Image
Image

And so we went back.. tired again..
Image

Taking some things into account we are waiting for a couple more pictures ^^ but we hope they will never come :P
